Students: Czechs became kinder, and Czech universities are cheaper

From the first of January of this year in the Czech Republic, the law was published that obtaining higher education in Czech in this country is becoming free even for foreigners. That is, after Germany, the Czech Republic became the second country in Europe, where the non-residents higher education can be obtained for simply. At the same time, for many times, the Czech Republic can be considered the first. For example, for staying in the Czech Republic for up to 30 days (and more time for exams and will not need), you do not need to receive a visa, but only to make money ($ 30 per day) and explain where you are going to live. To enter Germany, even presenting money at the rate of $ 50 per day, you are still doomed to make a visa. In addition, life in the Czech Republic is about five times cheaper than in Germany. And most importantly – in the Czech university, the our can enter immediately after school, and in any other European country will have to learn once or two years on the preparatory courses.

To know Czech – would be paradise

In addition to teaching in Czech in the Czech Republic, teaching in English is practiced. But it is paid. From $ 1.100 to $ 10.500 per year depending on the university and faculty. The most expensive training is $ 10.500 – at the medical faculty of Karlov University, the cheapest – $ 1.100 – in Prague University of Economics.

Czech knowledge can boast very few. But this does not mean that money for learning will have to pay. There are three ways to avoid this: you can learn Czech on courses in Moscow or in the Czech Republic, or to unlearn, say, the first course in English for money, to learn during this time Czech and from the second course to switch to free Czech branch. The last option should be stamped separately with each university.

As for courses, the embassy recommends in Moscow language courses at the Czech Cultural Center, and in the Czech Republic – the Institute of Language and Vocational Training in the Karlov University (Prague).

Moscow language courses lasting a minimum semester. Classes with Czech teachers twice a week in the cultural center located in close proximity to the embassy, will cost you $ 180 per semester. Declare your desire to study at courses follows no later than a month before the start of classes, better – before, since the set is very limited. Start classes in September and February. Especially gifted will be enough one semester. In the center you can agree on individual lessons. Costs in this case will also be very individual.

Prague Institute of Language and Training Offers, In addition to semester, six-week and ten-month language courses, as well as ten-month courses of linguistic and pre-informative training. Latest – the most expensive – almost $ 2.500, in the program 30-35 lessons per week: Language lessons (Czech or English) and the foundation of the future specialty. Only language, without a specialty, will cost $ 2.000 at the intensity of classes 25 hours a week. Food and accommodation in these amounts are not included. Both programs begin in September and end in June as opposed to semester, to which you can start in the middle of the school year – in February, and it is worth it, naturally, twice as cheaper – $ 1.000. Even less time and money will go to six-week courses – only about $ 320. Individual classes with the institute teacher – about $ 13 per lesson (45 minutes).

How much money is necessary

Life in the Czech Republic will be no longer expensive. It all depends on where you will live. Rent a room in a university dormitory varies from $ 15 to $ 80 per month, depending on the city and university. But even Czech students lack places in hostels. That is, you most likely not enough. Rent a one-room apartment in Prague costs about $ 250 per month, in a less presentable place housing will cost cheaper. And with food, if you cook yourself or eat at the institute dining room, you can meet at $ 70 per month.

In Prague, if you move only on the subway and buy a monthly subscription, transportation costs will be about $ 15 per month. Subway subscription for a whole day cost $ 1.5, and a ticket for which you can drive with transfers from 5 to 20 hours on weekdays 60 minutes, and on weekends 90 – only $ 0.5. An even cheaper a ticket without the right of transplanting, on which you can drive 4 metro stations or 15 minutes by bus. By the way, buses and trams go through Prague 24 hours a day.

Scholarship costs do not beat

According to the Czech government last year, one was issued for the whole country (!) Student and three graduate studies. But on the line of the Czech Ministry of Education, universities received as many as 39 scholarships: 20 for students, for a period of 5 months, 4 for graduate students (maximum for 9 months), 15 scholarships for 1-2 months for teachers and 15 – on summer language courses.

Unlike government scholarships, ministerial can only be obtained through the international department of its university. True, virtually no scholarships cover food and accommodation costs, and never pay for the place of future studies.

Better one who is older

The official ratings of Czech universities do not exist, but every decent case or Czech know that there is nothing better than Karlova University in Prague. And no university older in Central Europe either. Last year he was 650 years old. It has only 16 faculties, including medical and pharmaceutical. Besides him in the Czech Republic there are still 22 universities, not counting the three military and one police officer. Seven of them are located in Prague: University of Economics, Czech Technical University, Chemical University of Technology, Czech University of Agriculture, Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts, Fine Arts Academy and Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design.

All 27 Czech universities are state, otherwise the law on free education would be impossible. And in all, in addition to exams, you need to be interviewed. It all happens in June, the school year begins from the first of October. Applicants from applicants are accepted until February. Therefore, to write off the university and ask to send a questionnaire better before the new year, but to send it back – in January. No special selection of university questionnaires does not conduct. Separate questionnaire, you can immediately get acquainted with the receipt of government scholarships (and suddenly lucky). In June, you will have to go to the Czech Republic for exams. Time it will take a little – one and a half or two weeks, so that the visa is not needed. But if you are taken, you can get a temporary residence permit, which is issued for one year and is extended for up to five years. After which it is completely realistic to get permanent residence, and there, you look, and Czech citizenship is not far off.
