Prague Sightseeing: Astronomical Watch

Prague Courts (Orloj) are one of the most popular tourist attractions of the city. This medieval mechanism is located in the building of the Old Town Hall on the Square of the same name in Prague. Every hour, from 8:00 pm and until 20:00, a huge number of viewers are going to the clock, thirsting to see the action in the style of medieval puppet theaters.

When the clock beat the time, the figures play the performance on the religious topic. Of the two windows above the clock, 12 apostles and Jesus look. Figures located on the side of the top dial also come into motion: it is a buying, vanity, Turk (symbolizing idleness and luxury) and death. In addition to the time, two dial of astronomical Prague clock displays the current date, the moon phase, the zodiac sign, as well as the sunrise time and sunset.

Tourists can visit the historical halls of the Town Hall and climb to the viewing platform of the tower.
