Sights of Serbia

In the territory of Serbia and Montenegro, many historical and cultural monuments have been preserved, most of them, despite numerous wars, hung through this land are in excellent condition. Hundreds of medieval monasteries and ancient cities, dozens of balneological resorts, unique natural complexes of the southern part of the Balkans, tens of kilometers of the beaches of Chernogorsk Riviera, good-natured and friendly people – this is not a complete list of the virtues of this country.

The capital of Serbia, Belgrade – a special city. The first settlements on the site of the modern city appeared more than 3 thousand years ago, and since then there were no centuries so that on this land did not converge in the army duel and did not flow blood (it is believed that the city was completely destroyed 39 times!). Hence the fancy mixture of Eastern and Western cultures, creating a unique charm of modern Belgrade.

Not far from Belgrade, in Schaderevo, there is the largest plain fortress in Europe – Brankovich Fortress (XV B), which occupies a territory in 11 hectares and surrounded by a whole complex of structures "Small" and "Big" Cities. In Kraguev, there is an excellent cathedral in the Byzantine style. You can visit the unique medieval monasteries of the Zhić and Mileshyev, and the student and coolant are even under the protection of UNESCO. The south of the capital, near the small town of Priepet, is one of the most famous and ancient Serbian monasteries – Mileshevo (1218-1219.) based on the nephew of St. Savva Serbian – Korolevich Vladislav. It was here in 1237 were postponed from Tyrnov’s relics. Savva, here is the world famous fresco "White Angel on the coffin of the Lord". Currently, the monastery is a residence of Bishop Milezhevsky.

The city of Niche is historically an intersection between the East and the West of Europe, between the cultures of Malaya Asia and Europe on the one hand, and between the Slavic world and Islam – on the other. The village of Morny-Mateva, lying in one and a half kilometers northeast niche, is another museum of medieval architecture in the open air. Here are such religious places such as the Latin Church (XI B), the temple of Gabrovac (up to 1498 g), the monastery of St. Ion (XV B, modern structures date back to the XIX-XX centuries.) north of the village and the church of St. Archangel Mikhail (1838 g).

Not far from the city of Chachak, in the beautiful Gorge of the Morava River, is "Serbian Athos" – Monastery complex, most often called Troitsky. Here, in a small area, on the picturesque slope of Mount Shepherd, the introduced, Voznesensky, Preobrazhensky, Sretensky and Holy Trinity monasteries are located, and on the other coast of Morava, under the Mountain Cablar – Monasteries Blagoveshchensky, Nikolsky (Nicole) and John Preteak (YOVANI) , as well as three churches – Ilinskaya, Assumption and Savvinskaya (all structures refer to the period of the XIV-XVI centuries.).

The capital of Voivodina Novi Garden can also boast a lot of attractions.

Subotica – the northernmost city of Serbia, the second largest city of Voivodina and the biggest Magaareasky city in the country, more than half of the population here speak Hungarian, and therefore the city itself, and its surroundings are a fairly peculiar sight with a clear national flavor. Nearby is a rest area Palich with a zoo, a beautiful lake, sports grounds, restaurants and park. The town of Bach is famous for its medieval fortress (the oldest in Voorodina), as well as the crusaders of the Scratchful Tower (1169 g.).

Currently, Serbia has more than 20 health centers based on the unique properties of local medicinal waters and mud, equipped with the most modern medical facilities – a plateau Zlatibor with a famous chigota sanatorium, Buyanovka-Banya, Varnotchka Banya, Nishsk-Bath, Soko-Banya, Banya Covilycha and Others.
