Postojna (Postojna) – City in the southwestern part of Slovenia. City population – 8,548 people according to the 2002 census, population of the whole community – 14,581.
Postwayna is located 45 kilometers south-west of the capital of the country of Ljubljana. Through the city passes the motorway and the railway Ljubljana – Coper. Another highway leads from postowders to the south, towards the Croatian border and the city of Rijeka.
The city is known for the fact that there is a famous Karst Cave – Postojnska-Yama. From the moment of its discovery for a general visit (in 1819), tourism began to play great importance for the city. This is the most extended system of caves in Slovenia and one of the most visited tourists in this country (there is electric light and railway). The cave was formed by the beer river, which proceeds through it for 800 m. In the cave all year, the temperature is maintained about 10 degrees.
