Museum of Valrafa Richarz
In 1861, thanks to Johann, Henry Richarce was founded by the Museum of Valrafa Richarz. The building was built on the money of the entrepreneur and gathered a lot of handwritten documents, ancient books and a collection of cloths in his collection.
The museum occupies a huge area equal to 3.5 thousand square meters. The exposition presents exhibits that lead their history since the Middle Ages. A special place in this collection is a meeting of the work of masters of painting of the Middle Ages, which was collected with great difficulty.
During the periods of church persecution, the great miracle was able to protect the paintings of altars from a variety of temples, which here found their worthy place. The theme of the Middle Ages is extensively represented on the second floor.

Rising on the third floor, you can see that everything is dedicated to style «baroque». Rubens, Rembrandt and other famous authors of the Dutch and Flemish painting of the 17th century period. On the fourth floor, collections are collected mainly by German artists of 18-19 centuries. Inspection of the fifth floor will allow you to familiarize yourself with the work of impressionists.
