How not to poison in Egypt and what to do with poisoning
Tourist poisoning in Egypt often happen. This problem is much larger than it seems. First, the majority of vacationers are treated independently, which does not allow to collect at least some statistics. Secondly, the cause of gastric disorders is often mistakenly considered to use alcohol. As a result, this "sharp" problem is underestimated.
In this article we will give a few tips – how not to poison in Egypt. Unfortunately, any such advice only reduces the likelihood of poisoning, but does not exclude it completely.
The most important thing is that you need to know
All products in Egypt are grown in the Valley of the Nile River, where the soil has always been very fertile. It was connected with the sludge, which every year brought the river. In 1970, a dam and a power station was built in Aswan, and Il stopped entering the fields. But the yield at the same time did not decrease, but only rises. Why?
The answer is obvious – mineral fertilizers. According to statistics, 650 kilograms of mineral fertilizers per hectares of Pasha are used in Egypt (watch statistics). For comparison, in Russia we use an average of 18.5 kilograms.
That is, the Egyptians are added to the soil of 35 times more nitrates and phosphates than doing in our agriculture. Even the word "fertilizer" in this case is difficult to use. Fertilize – it is to add something to the soil to improve it. Egyptians do not fertilize the soil, they often form it from mineral fertilizers.
Egypt itself produces nitrate fertilizers and even exports them to other countries. Leaders in production – ABU QIR and EBIC. Phosphate fertilizers are mostly imported.
On the consumption of mineral fertilizers per unit of Pashny Egypt ranks 11th in the world. If you look at this list, there are small countries ahead of Egypt – Qatar, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuwait and the like. If these "kids" remove from the list, Egypt will turn out to be on the 5th place after New Zealand, Ireland, Arab Emirates and Colombia.
By the way, pay attention to statistics. New Zealand in the consciousness of ours is associated with a good environment, and products from there are considered almost most useful. In fact, the volume of use of mineral fertilizers in New Zealand "Sleep" and exceed Egypt three times.
Many tourists notice that vegetables and fruits in Egypt tasteless. This is logical. Vegetables and fruits quickly board and ripen under the "phosphate-nitrate doping" and simply do not have time to gain taste, sugar and vitamins. If they put in the mouth of the Egyptian tomato, then it is worth thinking: for health more harm or benefits?
What food in Egypt is the safest?
In the first place in the level of security in Egypt costs fish. Egyptian fish are caught in the Mediterranean, and it is quite environmentally friendly.
In second place is meat. Of course, animal feed is grown in the Nile Valley, on the same nitrates, pesticides and phosphates. But the animal has already recycled them, and the meat turns out to be safer than vegetable food.
Third-place dairy products. On the fourth cereal and products of them – bread, buns, porridge. Fifth place occupy leggings – peas, lentils and beans.
Close a list of fruits and vegetables. They are "pulling out" from the soil most of the harmful substances and supply your body.
conclusions. Running on the fish and meat, we wake up vegetables and fruits.
Rule 6 hours
Products are spoiled from the fact that bacteria multiply in them. Over time, hazardous microorganisms in food are becoming more and more, and the food becomes unsuitable. These microorganisms are caused by most poisoning.
Egypt – a hot country, therefore, the bacteria here are multiplied faster. Remember that if food has not yet acquired a characteristic smell, it does not mean that it is safe.
The food may look quite normal, and nothing bad does not smell, but she can already be poisoned.
In Egypt, many tourists take food from the restaurant to the room or to the pool, and then forget about it. Here, ours summarizes the principle: "I can not throw out the food", which many of us were vaccinated since childhood.
If 6 hours have passed since cooking, then you can throw it away and you need! At this point, almost all foods in the hot climate become dangerous for use.
Another good advice is to richly pierce food before use. Unfortunately, this method is not suitable for all tourists, because not everyone loves sharp food. Just do not hope for pepper, which lies on the tables in the restaurant in the hotel, this pepper has long been "exhaled". We recommend buying peppers in the store in Russia and bring it with you to Egypt.
Remember dinner what was for lunch
When in the kitchen at the hotel after dinner remains unclaimed products, of course, the Egyptians do not throw them away. They are used for the next meal. That is, the dinner is what remained at lunch, the breakfast is used by what remains of dinner and so on.
Some products on the buffet can be yesterday and in yesterday. They will be uploaded until they start to smell unpleasant. Many of these foods are dangerous to health and can cause poisoning.
Our advice. Remember that they were offered at dinner, and try not to eat it for dinner. Often products change their shape. For example, the dinner offered pieces of chicken, and on dinner they became filling in potato casserole.
Most often, such metamorphoses occur with vegetables that become different kind of salads. Salads should be avoided first!
Do not eat dishes
You noticed that the salad is decorated with a buffet of a beautiful carrot crown on top? Or a table with bakery products contains beautiful pretzels, which are already there for a week?
Do not eat these decorations. Most of them make from not the freshest vegetables and fruits, and they can cause poisoning.

When cooks create such decorations, they often do not mean that they will be. They just need to spend somewhere old products. Principle: "With a lubbing sheep at least the fur of a church".
As it were beautifully did not look roses and the crown on the salad, do not eat them, health is more expensive.
Cookware in restaurants and personal hygiene
It is no secret that cutlery and plates in restaurants are not in the best way. This is noticed by many tourists even with the naked eye.
If you observe the Europeans – the Germans, the British and the French, then notice their manic habit of wiped with antiseptic napkins all that can.
They wipe the plate, plug, knife and spoon, and only then begin to eat. This is not such a bad idea, take an example with them.
We do not recommend a spoon and fork with you to Egypt, since the service personnel in restaurants in Egypt loves to pick up spoons and forks, without even asking you if you can do it. Your own plug and spoon you lose to the end of vacation with a probability of 99%.
Cutting device watches with antibacterial napkins – a very good idea that will reduce the chance of poisoning.
What to do with poisoning
You can consult a doctor, because poisoning is an insured event, and the cost of treatment will cover the insurance company. If you fly to Egypt by a batch tour, then your insurance is most likely with a franchise. That is, the insurance company covers costs above a certain amount. The first 30 dollars you pay from your pocket, then pays the insurance company.
