In our opinion, choose the hotel in the center of Athens for several reasons: it is convenient to get to all the attractions on foot (you can save on transport), it is quite calm here (much less homeless, than, for example, in the metro area of Omonia), is quite good with tourist Infrastructure (cafe, souvenir shops). Conditionally, the city center can be divided into several main zones: hotels near Metro Monastiraki, hotels near Saintagma Square, hotels near Acropole and overlooking the main attraction (who is important not only comfort, but also the visual component).

Monastraki area – one of the oldest, from here it is very convenient to get to all the attractions, there are many cafes, bars and restaurants. Perhaps the only minus of this area is quite crowded and noisy here, and in the summer the homeless and crooks are tightened to the same name, who want to take advantage of tourists. But if you are attentive, nothing terrible will happen.

Another option of hotels near Monastiraki – Lotus series. These are two hotels (Lotus Center and Lotus Inn) located very close to the same rating and price. These are not large hotels, and a complex of apartments or a mini-hotel, where guests can enjoy comfortable rooms with a TV and a private bathroom. Excellent location and a good number of rooms make this network very popular with tourists, so in the season to book a room quite difficult here.
