We regularly pronounce foreign words: brandy, mayonnaise, swag, champagne, cologne, Tulle, Bologna, and others. – But extremely rarely thinking about their origin. Meanwhile, for each of these words, a concrete geographical name is hiding – the city, valley, cave. Today we will tell about a dozen places on the world map, whose names turned from their own to the nine.

Bologna, Tulle and Kashmir

The names of three types of fabric were formed from their own names of three cities. In Bologna, the synthetic casing fabric Bologna: It was brought to Russia from Italy in the early 1960s.
