Switzerland Cities: Targon

One of the oldest resorts of Switzerland – Targon (Torgon) is located on the very north of the Shapery area, on the tiny plateau at the foot of the Mount Le Woman (1524 m).

You can get here only on a picturesque winding serpentine from Vyonna, which determines the specialization of tramplines as a secluded and quiet recreation center. Targon is famous for its views – just 2 km in east of the Rhone Valley, and the walls of the gear peaks of Chambery and Le-Romon separate the area from the Lake Geneva, therefore it is easy to guess what dawners are.

Traghon sports capabilities are also excellent – 9 marked trails (4 "blue", 4 "Red" and 1 "black") with a total length of 35 km. With a small height difference (maximum 851 m), the local slopes are known for their interesting relief and beauty of the surrounding nature. For the majority of descents pass through the forest area and are focused east, so they have a good snow cover. Only 5 km of the tracks regularly need an artificial dryness, because due to the proximity of the snow lake falls somewhat more than in the Shampori itself.

Slopes are serviced by 11 lifts with a total bandwidth of 12 thousand people per hour, which is more than enough for local conditions. The resort positions itself as an optimal choice for snowboarders and beginner skiers. On the northern slopes Tet-du-Tronsh (1916 m) and tour de don (1998 m) a lot of excellent places for carving and freeride, but due to the forestry of these descents, skating here is not available to everyone.

Two ski and snowboard schools, a sledge track, about 14 km of taming skiing and a border crosse zone.
