Finland City: Tampere
Founded in 1779. Tampere, the third largest city of Finland, lies on a hilly carriage between lakes Pyhyanyarvi and Hyasiairvi, surrounded by almost two hundred smaller lakes. From Tampere, hundreds of water hiking and hiking routes are organized on the magnificent surroundings of the city.
Sights of Tampere
Tampere Cathedral (1907.) is a majestic monument "Finnish romanticism" and resembles a medieval castle. Orthodox Church of Alexander Nevsky and St. Nicholas in the Unhovitinine style brightly contrasts with the Church of Kaleva (1966.).
There are more than 20 museums in the city, for the most part of very original and interesting – the Sarah Hilden Art Museum with an extensive collection of contemporary art, Lenin Museum, Spy Museum, Museum-Pharmacy, Museum of Boxing, Wonderful Museum Muumilaakso ("Moomy Trolley Valley") In the Tampere City Library, Museum of Minerals Kivimuseo, Museum "Worker Quarter Amuri", Hockey Museum, Museum of Local Lore, Central Museum of Workers’ Finland, Vapriikki Museum Center with dozens of permanent exhibitions and Tampere Art Museum with a collection of modern Finnish art. Outside the city are the Museum of Dolls and Costumes Hatanp&# 228;&# 228; N Kartano in the estate of the manor and the Mobilia Automotive Museum.
One of the main attractions of the city – Entertainment Park S&# 228; rk&# 228; NNIEMI with more than 30 rides, planetarium, zoo, dolphinarium, aquarium and the highest observation tower of the country – n&# 228; sinneula.
Classical and modern music concerts pass in the spacious hall "Palace Tampere" (1990.).
Best shopping – in Kehr shopping centers&# 228; Saari and Koskikeskus.
Ski centers around Tampere
Heervana
Hervanta (Hervanta) – the ski center nearest to Tampere, is 8 km from the city center on the Turtolankatu highway. Equipped only three tracks, the longest of which is 350 m, as well as 16 km of lit ski. Possible equipment rental. Works restaurant.
Korkacanangas
Not far from Tampere is another ski center – Korkeakanangas (Korkeakangas), it is located Radom with the town of Valkeakoski (Valkeakoski) on the VEIKKOHAKULISENTIE highway. There are only two small ski slopes. Hire equipment and cafeteria.
SAPPEE
Sappee is located in Salmentaka (Salmentaka) on the SappeenvuoRentie highway 50 km from Tampere. SAPPEE is among the top ten sports winter centers of Finland. It features a sports center – 10 ski slopes, a beautiful 14-kilometer skiing and one of the best Snow parks in the country. All tracks are lit and equipped with snow guns. In terms of complexity, the slopes are divided into four green, three blue and three red. There is a play area for children. There is a possibility of incorporate riding. Near the resort there is an entertainment center Huippu, in which several restaurants and shops are open and musical concerts are regularly arranged.
Calpis Ski Center
Sports complex Calpis Ski Center is located in the village of Turenki (Turenki) on the Kalpalinnantie highway south of Tampere. Ten lighted and equipped tracks, the longest of which is 450 m. Two highways green, three – blue, three – red, two – black. There are a ray and springbiles. Around the resort – about 10 km of flat skiing. Work rental centers, locker rooms, cafes and restaurant. Nearby there is a small hotel for 10 rooms.
Mustavuori
Slightly north of Tampere, 11 km from the city, there is a Mustavuori sports center (Mustavuori). Equipped three small tracks, one of which is suitable for riding small children. Open rental and cafeteria.

Ellliuori
Ellivuori Ski Center is located in Elllivaori on the Karkunkyl highway&# 228; NTIE 30 km northwest of Tampere. The nearest railway station Vammal (Vammala) is 20 km away. Six highlighted tracks and equipped with snow guns, the longest of which is 800 m, which is quite a lot for these edges. In terms of complexity, the tracks are divided into one green, two blue, two red and one black. 5 km lighted skiing are laid. There is a sports equipment rental point and restaurant.
